This website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. We use cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate usage and performance data. The legal source documents originate from official European sources.
Favourites
Saved cases are stored only in your own browser's local storage. They are not sent to our server and disappear when you clear your browser storage.
Language preference
On your first visit to the homepage, your browser language determines whether the Dutch or English website opens. This choice and any later manual language choice are stored only in your browser's local storage and are not sent to our server.
Usage and performance statistics
Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us aggregate insight into page views, visited routes and technical performance such as loading speed and visual stability. Its measurement code does not use cookies or local browser storage and, according to Cloudflare, does not create visitor profiles or individual fingerprints. We use these data only to improve the discoverability, operation and speed of VAT Case Law.
Technical log data
For security and troubleshooting, the web server may process technical request data such as the time, IP address, browser information and requested route. We do not use this data for advertising or visitor profiles and retain it no longer than necessary for security and incident investigation.
Official documents
When a document is not yet in the verified storage, the server retrieves it once from Cellar. Your browser does not connect directly to Cellar.
Cookie notice
The functional browser storage and Cloudflare Web Analytics do not use tracking cookies. We therefore do not show a consent banner. If advertising or non-essential tracking is added later, it will load only after valid consent.
